April Income Report 2018

This is my 23nd Income Report in which I detail how much money I made online this month.

These reports are designed to show you that it is possible to make money online. I also want to use them to give myself motivation to meet targets, describe new challenges and achievements. Every month I'll post reports of my google analytics, income stats and more.

Where did April go? I'm writing this at the end of May and I'm struggling to remember what I exactly did in this month!

Before I begin, I've decided that I'm going to stop doing my Income Reports after May. I would have been doing it for 2 years now and I think it's time for a break. I've enjoyed doing them but they've become a bit stale after writing over 24 of them and it's actually making me not want to blog. I may do small updates during the year but doing the monthly updates is slowly killing my motivation to write.

So let's move onto the work I did do! For my CodeCanyon products, I finished updates to Titan and Pro School items. For Titan i integrated the Documentation Builder system and for Pro School I revamped a lot of the areas to keep them in line with my other products, including it's invoice system, login and other sections. I know I've mentioned this before but I'll be removing some of my older products around August time and add them to my blog as either free downloads or something else. These products are ones that still work, but that I haven't updated in a long time. I want my portfolio on CodeCanyon to represent active and updated products.

Now that these products have been updated, I'm going to be working on a new product. I've decided to not update my Live Chat product as there are so many competiting products for it that updating it would really be a waste of time. Live Chat applications already on CodeCanyon work very well and I don't think I can really offer anything different. So thus, I'm going to be working on a new product. I'm toying between a Hotel system, Book Social Network or some SEO software.

Niche Project

My Niche site is still on going and I've started building links to it. It has made it's first revenue from Amazon ($20) and it's slowly creeping up the rankings in google. It doesn't get much traffic (around 10 hits a week!) but I'm slowly building it up. I've been doing a lot of guest post out-reach which has been taking up a lot of my spare time, which is why I haven't added any new posts to this blog.

If I manage to get this site earning at least $50 a month, I'll start trying to replicate the process by hiring writers to write me content for different niches and seeing if I can build a good network of sites. My SEO skills are improving each time I do a site like this and it's definitely a good secondary income stream.

CodeCanyon sales dropped quite dramatically this month. It just goes to show that being successful online you really need to diversify your income streams as much as possible because they can vary so much. CodeCanyon suffers particularly from this; it has months where you earn a massive amount and then others where it feels like you're getting no sales at all. $2,000 is nothing to sniff at, but with the updates I've been making to all my products I've seen very little increase in my overall income.

I did manage to take on some big jobs for freelancing this month, which really helped boost this months income. It's come at the perfect time as I'm planning on getting my own place in the summer so I've been wanting to save as much as possible.

My affiliate earnings keep increasing too! It's only been a few months but if I can keep this amount earning above $500.00 a month it will be a great income stream. My work on my niche project will continue as long as this income stream continues as it affords me to switch my time between projects.

Traffic

Traffic increased again this month. It did dip towards the end but the fact that this blog, which started out as a hobby, is now hitting 1,000 unique hits a day is amazing. I've created a blog many times in my life, all of them being failiures. We'll have to see if I can maintain this level of hits of the course of the year.

May Plans

As mentioned, May will be my last Income Report for a while. It'll give me some time to make different kinds of blog posts other than these monthly income reports. Apologies to anyone who really enjoyed these but I just need a break. I'm sure I'll return to them one day!

I'll be working on my new product this month. I've got to do some research into which I want to do next as I have a few ideas I want to try out. It's been over 7 months since my last new product so I'm excited to make something new, rather than updates to existing products.

I'm also looking for my own place in the Summer. Me and my girlfriend are moving in together so I've had a lot of other things to sort out (boring things with estate agents). I'm going to setup an office in the house so I may do a blog post on it once it's all done. But first I've got to move in!
