DayZ was officially released in December 2018, but had a five-year early access period where players could play a beta version. It has gone on to become one of the most popular games in the "survivor" genre, and is one of the most streamed games on Twitch. You start the game with nothing more than a flare and a rag, and as the zombie-apocolypse breaks out you must fight for survival. You'll have to find weapons to protect yourself, medical supplies to heal yourself, navigate the massive world with vehicles and negotiate with other players who are also in the same situation as you.
The game has gone onto sell millions of copies worldwide. A planned release for DayZ on console is scheduled for 2019. The game can currently be played via Steam. The game won IGN's peoples choice award in 2013 and has spawned a number of similar survival games that have been inspired by the game's success. The game originally started out as a mod for ArmA II and has since been developed into it's own standalone game by Bohemia Interactive.
To play DayZ on a laptop you will be required to have a dedicated graphics card and a decent CPU. The recommended settings do specify a hefy GTX 1060 card and also a good i5 intel processor. You'll also need a hefy amount of RAM to play this game under good conditions, with 12GB being the recommended requirement. The system requirements for DayZ are:
