Even those that have never played a video game in their life have most likely heard of World of Warcraft and playing with the best mouse will give you the best experience with this MMORPG. For a time, it was the single most played game in history, and even today, over a decade and a half after its release, it is wildly popular. World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that is based on the Warcraft series, which was an RTS game.

The setting is Azeroth, a fictional world full of fantasy creatures like Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs. Azeroth is made up of several continents, but the two largest, and the originals, were Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. These continents, one ruled by the Horde and the other by the Alliance, are constantly at war. There are many other conflicts and crises that keep the gameplay fresh and the lore virtually endless. Reading the entire lore that goes with this game would be roughly the equivalent of reading several novels. There is a seemingly endless list of famous characters like Thrall, Grom Hellscream, Queen Azshara, and Malfurion Stormrage, each with their own extensive history. That is only a tiny fraction of the named NPCs and they all have detailed backstories. There are few video games that can match World of Warcraft when it comes to detailed and interesting lore. The gameplay is reminiscent of the mechanics used in many RPGs in the early 2000s, but the animations and graphics are still relevant, and the sheer content is practically unmatched. Put simply, the game starts you off at level one as your chosen race, and in your chosen class. For example, you might be an Orc Warrior, or a Human Mage. You progress by completing tasks and raiding dungeons in order to gain gear and experience.

Blizzard Entertainment was already very popular for their Warcraft series, the Starcraft series, and Diablo even before they developed World of Warcraft. After the release of WoW, they exploded into one of the biggest names in video games in the world. Even today they have several extremely popular MMO games. Overwatch and Hearthstone were also developed by Blizzard. Blizzard was founded in 1991, and was formerly known as Chaos Studios.

There are some games that were simply meant to be played with a keyboard and mouse, and World of Warcraft is one of them. It isn’t that the game was developed before there was any such thing as a video game controller. It's been around for a while, but not quite that long. However, when WoW was released, the idea of playing an MMORPG with anything other than a mouse was pretty much unheard of. It is because the game was literally designed with a mouse in mind that players can gain such a distinct advantage by using one. There is a fairly extensive PVP system in WoW, and a mouse is almost always a great way to improve mobility and accuracy in PVP.

There is a new expansion that is meant to be released this year. It is called Shadowlands, and it will introduce a new storyline, and five new playable realms. This will be the eighth major expansion for World of Warcraft, and it is highly anticipated.
